Data Ecosystem
The IHEC Data Ecosystem Working Group promotes data discovery and access by defining methods and standards for sharing metadata that accurately and consistently describe the datasets produced by IHEC members. To this end we have created:
- the reference epigenome registry (EpiRR) for easier identification of datasets grouped in reference epigenomes and their respective metadata, including direct links to the raw data in public sequence archives,
- the IHEC Data Hub specification, to distribute metadata between epigenomic tools and resources using JSON-formatted text documents, and
- the IHEC Data Portal which can be used to view, search and download processed data already released by the different IHEC-associated projects and submitted to EpiRR.
We coordinate our efforts through monthly teleconferences to ensure a continuous flow of epigenomic datasets from the IHEC data generators to the research community.
