IHEC Successfully holds Annual Meeting 2014 in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
From October 6-8, 2014 the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) and funding partners had the pleasure to host this year’s annual meeting and to welcome IHEC members from around the globe at the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel in Vancouver/Canada.
The three-day meeting offered various sessions including country updates, workgroup meetings and reports as well as the open IHEC Science Day, which provided high level talks by renowned scientists on their latest findings in epigenomics.
"We saw the tremendous progress of the IHEC member projects over this past year" said Eric Marcotte (CIHR), Chair of the IHEC Executive Committee. "Our new IHEC Data Portal showcases this work, and affirms our commitment to the rapid release of epigenomic datasets to the wider research community."
UBC Professor Martin Hirst, Chair of the IHEC 2014 Organizing Committee, commented "The scientific program included panel discussions, posters and oral presentations from key leaders in the field and reinforced how epigenomic approaches are continuing to reveal mechanistic insight into normal cellular development and human disease.”
After a successful conference the IHEC consortium is looking forward to the upcoming tasks and to the next annual meeting in November 2015 in Tokyo.
